Are you a good cook? Me neither. But when I want to cook, I head to my site of the week, RouxBe. It’s all about video tutorials. Not just a bunch of printed recipes. These people show you how to do it, step-by-step. I love it. So, before you heat your oven for that soufflé, head to rouxbe.com. That’s R-O-U-X-B-E.com.

Sunday, October 25th, 2009Mobile Necessities – October 25, 2009
Sunday, October 25th, 2009I’m here at the AT&T store to show you some of the new mobile technology coming down the road that you’ll see very soon. So, you have a cell phone. Is that all you need? Nope, over time you’ll learn what other necessities exist in the mobile world. Let’s start with extra chargers. Yes, you will forget it at home. Have one for work, and travel. Bluetooth headsets. Well, this goes without saying. Especially with all the new traffic fines you can get holding that phone to your ear while driving. Battery extenders. These come in very handy when you just can’t seem to plug your cell phone into a wall outlet. Finally, the most obvious accessory, especially if you have an iPhone, a case. While the iPhone looks very snazzy without it, all it takes is one drop and that cute screen shatters. Don’t take chances, get a good one..
I’d like to thank Ryan and the wonderful folks at the AT&T store for hosting the show this week. I’m Eric Spellmann, taking you to the Next Level!

Internet on a Thumbdrive – October 18, 2009
Sunday, October 18th, 2009I’m here at the AT&T store to show you some of the new mobile technology coming down the road that you’ll see very soon. What do you think this is? Anybody? No, it’s not a thumbdrive. It’s the Internet, or should I say, ACCESS to the Internet. Just plug this little gizmo into a laptop, and no matter where you are, as long as your cell phone works, you have Internet. This is more than WiFi. It uses the cellular network. You can actually surf the Internet in a moving vehicle. Of course, don’t be the driver. I recently road-tested this little baby between here and San Francisco. It did great! I only lost access in areas where my cell phone had problems. If you need to be connected to the Internet at all times, check it out.

Netbooks – Internet on the Go – October 11, 2009
Sunday, October 11th, 2009I’m here at the AT&T store to show you some of the new mobile technology coming down the road that you’ll see very soon. By now, most of you have probably seen some of these little bitty laptops floating around. We call them netbooks. Besides them being small and easy to carry, they are extremely cheap, most of them under $500. Well, AT&T has taken some of these netbooks and installed their modems. Now, you can access the Internet anywhere and not have to worry about bringing along a little USB modem. It’s built-in. What could be easier. You just open it up, turn it on, and…instant Internet. It will also connect to WiFi networks when they are available. If your job requires Internet all the time, you need to check this out. Much more portable than a laptop and MUCH better battery life.

Zip Skinny
Sunday, October 4th, 2009Ok, this has to be one of the best statistics sites on the planet. My site of the week, Zip Skinny, allows you to put in a zip code. It then gives you a ton, and I mean a ton, of information on the people that live in that area. It’s all tied back to the Census, in case you’re wondering. Give it a try. I guarantee you’ll be surprised at the numbers for YOUR zip code. Check it out at zipskinny.com.
Bluetooth Solar Fun – October 4, 2009
Sunday, October 4th, 2009I’m here at the AT&T store to show you some of the new mobile technology coming down the road that you’ll see very soon. First, the Bluetooth Solar Car Kit. This nifty device sticks to your windshield. The underside has solar panels that help charge it up. No more cords running from your car cigarette lighter! Then, all you do is pair it up with your cell phone and voila, you don’t need your Bluetooth headset. It has all the standard options you would expect: the ability to end calls, call waiting, last number redial, and interestingly enough, the ability to connect to two blue tooth devices simultaneously. Some things to keep in mind, though. You have to plug it in initially to get that first charge. And if you don’t leave your car out in very much bright sun, it will run down. The quality of the speaker is great, though, I would recommend it to all of my driving, mobile friends.
