Online Diversion: Monster’s Den – Book of Dread
Thursday, January 6th, 2011If you’ve gamed for very long, no doubt you’ve encountered a good dungeon crawler. You know, that game that lets you become a fighter or sorcerer, scouring an underground labyrinth for monsters and loot.
This week’s online diversion, Monster’s Den – Book of Dread, is a great incarnation of this game type. It’s simple enough to start playing immediately, but detailed enough to keep you interested. Enjoy!

Watch Out for These Facebook Scams
Wednesday, January 5th, 2011It was bound to happen. Get enough people using a social website and some lowlife will figure out a way to trick you. Currently, Facebook has a number of scams to watch out for. Pay close attention, some of these schemes are sneaky!
Have you seen any emails from Facebook saying that one of your friends has “tagged your photo in the 2011 Calendar app?” Don’t click it. They are trying to gain access to your Facebook account.
If you ever see a post from one of your friends saying they are “stuck in London” or some other far off place, ignore it, and call your friend immediately. Their Facebook account has been stolen. The identity thief is trying to make you believe that your friend is truly stuck in a foreign country. More importantly, they are trying to play on that friendship to convince you to wire some funds to them to “help out.”
Some sites use the word “facebook” in their web address, but unless it actually says facebook.com, don’t believe it. For instance, a site that looks like Facebook, but has an address like Facebook.social.com is not an official Facebook site. Always watch that address bar!
Turn Your SlideShow into a Slick Presentation

To create incredibly cool, animated slideshows, check out Animoto, Flixtime, and Stupeflix. These sites allow you to upload pictures, choose your music, and produce incredible videos. While the sites are free to create 60 second videos, heavy users will want to pay a little to remove that time restriction.
